CondominiumsThe typical Inspection of a condominium unit includes:
- A detailed Inspection of the particular units interior, including the electrical, heating & plumbing systems, interior finishes, etc., much like the inspection of a any home,
- A general “walk-through” of accessible common areas of the condominium building. These include the exterior, roof, underground parking garage, mechanical & electrical rooms, common hallways & meeting/recreational rooms. *Please note that sometimes access to all these areas may not be granted or possible (ie. roof insurance/warranty issues, or locked mechanical room & no available key),
- If available, read through any Strata Minutes, Engineers & Depreciation Reports.
It is strongly recommend that all available strata minutes, any special assessments plus Engineer & Depreciation Reports be obtained & read prior to the Inspection.
The inspection is then communicated through a detailed inspection report, which includes descriptions of all the systems in the home, as well as any recommended repairs or improvements. This will help you prioritize and develop a blueprint for your future in the home.
